The public pages do not ask you to create an account. The host that serves the site may record the usual connection details, such as an IP address, browser, and the page requested, in order to deliver the site.
People who administer the site have a name, an email address, and a password. The password is stored as a hash, not as the password itself. A sign-in cookie keeps that session.
For an investor we invite, we keep the name, company if one is given, email, phone, address, LinkedIn address if one is given, and whether that person told us they are an accredited investor. We also keep which company they were introduced to, which documents were sent, whether the Non-Disclosure Agreement was signed and the typed signature, and whether they asked us to stop sending notes.
We use this information to operate the site, send the fact sheet and later materials the investor asked to see, record the Non-Disclosure Agreement, and stop notes when asked. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Email is sent through the firm mailbox at Bluehost. The site and its database are hosted for us. A client company may receive the fact that an investor is reviewing that company, because that is the engagement. We do not give the investor list to unrelated parties.
The only cookie this site sets for its own purpose is the administrator sign-in cookie. There is no advertising cookie and no analytics cookie.
We keep investor records for as long as the relationship or a legal need requires, including the signed Non-Disclosure Agreement. An administrator can delete an investor, which removes that person’s records from the desk. A backup made before that deletion may still contain the earlier copy until that backup is discarded.
Each investor note has a link to stop further notes. You may also write to robert@dsvconsult.com to correct your details or ask us to delete them. We will not delete a record we are required to keep, such as a signed agreement, but we will stop sending notes.
This site is operated from Texas and is not directed at the European Union. We do not keep a separate GDPR policy. If you are in the European Union and we hold information about you, write to the address above and we will provide a copy, a correction, or deletion where we are able to do so.
The site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
