DSV Consulting LLC has engagements with four (4) companies in the process of crowdfunding in a Small Online Public Offering (‘OPO‘) on a number of different crowdfunding platforms under Title III – Regulation Crowdfunding.

Success in funding

Crowdfunding is much like any other funding process.  Your ultimate success depends upon the company’s officers’ ability to create a coherent mission statement, implemented by goals supporting the mission, all surrounding a compelling story line that includes a capable team, a solution to a problem, and some financial wherewithal.  Any funding process requires:

  • a business plan,
  • a pitch deck, 14 pages of concise display of your business plan,
  • a financial package with 3 years of financials, 2 years of pro forma(s) / forecast(s), and
  • a website.

Crowdfunding success depends upon…

Adding crowdfunding success factors to that list, includes:

  • social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram),
  • LinkedIn profiles for all officers and advisors that list the company, and
  • a website that is tied into Google Analytics and Facebook Pixels.

But also a number of other items:

  • Officers should ensure that they can be confident that the minimum funding can be achieved within 7 days of opening the crowdfunding campaign;
  • campaigns become stale within 42 days;
  • set aside 4 to 10% of the total value of your campaign for advertising – Google advertising, reviewed by the crowdfunding platform, ensures that you can reach your campaign goals; and
  • ensure that your campaign page(s) have plenty of video and links to your website to enhance the narrative on the crowdfunding platform’s campaign page.
